Ah yes, the Reading paper.
We believe this might be our favorite paper. Want to know why?
Because to us, it doesn't even feel like a test. It's as if the
answers are handed to us within the paper itself. All we need to
do is read the questions attentively and locate the answers in the
text. It's straightforward, yet challenging!
There's not much else to do for preparation, aside from actually
reading and broadening our vocabulary. That's why we recommend
reviewing past IB papers and thoroughly studying the vocabulary
list.

Tips and Tricks.
We're excited to share our most effective strategies for the
reading paper to help you achieve the 7 you deserve, so keep
reading!
Most importantly, it's crucial to read the questions first. This
cannot be stressed enough. When your reading time begins, quickly
review the title of the text and then immediately dive into the
questions. This approach not only prepares you for what to look
for while reading but also provides hints about the text. After
reviewing all the questions, return to the first one and search
for its answer within the text. Follow this method for each
question, and you should finish with ample time to spare. Our
second tip is to thoroughly understand the
WH questions, which can be found on the
vocabulary page.
It's vital not to mix these up, as doing so could lead to
answering the questions incorrectly. The number of times students
have lost easy marks by confusing their WH words is too high to
count.
